About Nutrition & Nutrigenomics Guide for Special Needs Teen

Understand how hormone imbalances impact special needs teens —and learn nutrition strategies to restore balance and ease the transition.

Puberty is marked by significant physical and physiological changes as the body adapts to rapid growth and shifting hormone levels. In teens with special needs, these adjustments can be further complicated by underlying neurological challenges. This webinar will equip parents with the knowledge to provide targeted nutritional support during this critical stage.

Attendees will gain deeper insight into:

1. Hormones and Imbalances

  • How hormone imbalances drive behavioral and physical challenges during puberty.
  • Why symptoms are amplified in special-needs teens.

2. Aggravators & Environmental Triggers

  • Why many special needs teens face underlying cellular detoxification challenges, and how a sluggish detox system directly disrupts their hormones.
  • How daily exposure to chemical compounds (cosmetics, household products, medications, environmental pollutants, and toxins impact health).
  • How to test and determine which compounds burden an individual’s health, and which toxins are efficiently detoxified by each individual.
  • How stress aggravates hormonal imbalance and nutrition strategies to alleviate stress.

3. Nervous System

  • Understand the delicate balancing act of neurotransmitters (chemical signaling in the brain).
  • Learn about foods that support the nervous system.

4. Actionable Solutions

  • What nutrients are needed to manufacture and balance hormones, help regulate menstrual cycles, ease mood swings, improve sleep quality, and support proper physical growth.
  • Which foods help effectively process and eliminate common environmental toxins.
  • How to use targeted nutrition to optimize brain signaling, reduce anxiety, and fuel neurological growth.
  • Learn scientific tests to identify exactly where detox pathways are struggling, and where the body can successfully eliminate compounds and toxins.

About the Author

Chris Perez is a UK-Certified Nutritional Therapist and Nutrigenomics Practitioner dedicated to helping special needs families navigate and overcome the often-overwhelming world of neurological, sensory, and behavioral challenges.

The Journey Behind the Practice

As a mother of twins with special needs, Chris experienced the profound limitations of conventional medicine. Standard healthcare excels at treating acute sickness with medication, but has very little to offer for the ongoing, daily challenges of generally healthy special needs children.

Early in her journey, doctors dismissed the crucial link between eating the right food and brain development. Diagnoses were given with much burden, but without any accompanying solutions. Refusing to accept that her children had hit a dead end, Chris took matters into her own hands. She went looking for answers, ultimately immersing herself in the study of clinical nutrition and advanced nutrigenomics.

The results of her dedication were nothing short of transformative. By combining targeted nutrition with therapy, Chris witnessed significant cognitive, physical, and physiological breakthroughs in her twins.

Having lived through exhaustion of sensory overloads and behavioral meltdowns, Chris views evidence-based nutrition as a vital tool for special needs families.

Through Nutrigenomics—analyzing how a child’s unique genetic profile interacts with nutrients—Chris creates targeted, personalized roadmaps that help optimize brain health and development.
